It was a whirlwind, but in the best way. Most of the traveling I did during college in the US was similar to your travels in Newcastle ;)

All you can eat anything is always a great way to numb pain. I’m glad the Premier Inn came through for you the way Holiday did for me.

I feel you on the no assigned seats thing, though. Ryanair was fine for me (Lithuanians can queue), but EasyJet…..yeah, Turkish people aren’t great at queuing.

This reminds me of when a Premier Inn (VERY similar to Holiday Inn) was the best part of mine and a friend’s night out in Manchester. The concert we went to sucked, the bars we went to after we left the concert early sucked, we both ended up in heaps on the floor after skidding on pools of alcohol in one of the bars. The best thing was the comfy beds, and the all-you-can-eat breakfast the next morning that numbed our pain!

I had a similar experience where my time was cut short in Dublin…we were delayed by driving in circles from Belfast and we only had a few minutes to explore Dublin before heading back. But sounds like you got a nice outcome out of everything…kudos!
