Unfortunately, I feel like Budapest might be a difficult place to find vegetarian food because it seemed so many of the traditional dishes were made with meat. But then again, I wasn’t looking so there could have been some amazing vegetarian options I just skipped over :)

It seems most things were meat based, but people were so friendly that I’m sure they would find something delicious for you :)

I don’t eat meat so many of your delicious looking / sounding suggestions wouldn’t have been for me anyways, but I need to go back to try these restaurants! Great post!

The stewed venison sounds and looks divine and the cholent looks like my perfect idea of comfort food. Thanks for sharing the mouth watering photos!

I need to go back Budapest so I can try Hungarikum Bistro and Macesz Huszar. Those dishes sound amazing! And I’m so glad you enjoyed Fülemüle as much as I did :-)

Is there a decent vegetarian food scene there at all? Easy access to vegetarian food is one of the many reasons I enjoyed going to Italy so much :) Maybe I can convince my boyfriend that (provided we get married) Budapest would be a good honeymoon destination…not mentioning the ex part, obviously
